In the this image, hula master from the North Kohala, Lorna Lim, dances to an old Hawai'ian mele, often sung by children, telling of the cowry shell. The reverence with which the Hawai'ian people hold their environment is a great message to the rest of the world. The aina (land), the kai (ocean), and all of the creatures above and below are spoken of with delight and respect. Lorna Lim, a daughter of the famous Lim Family of North Kohala on the Big Island of Hawaii, has been dancing and singing with her multi talented family all her life. Her beautiful voice is heard many times a day over Hawaii's radio stations and mirrors the sweetness of her personality. She travels internationally to bring knowledge of the hawai'ian culture to other parts of the world.
